Centerpoint to Build Student Housing at TCU Campus

A private student-housing development that was expected to be built a couple of years ago near Texas Christian University has resurfaced.

Dallas-based Fountain Residential Partners, a student-housing developer, is under contract to buy the property at 3201 S. University Drive, just south of Berry Street. There, it plans a five-story, 117,000-square-foot building with space for shops and restaurants on the street level and 56 apartments on the four floors above, according to city building permits.

Valhalla Design Group and Centerpoint Builders are providing turn-key design/build services for the project.

Brent Little, president of Fountain Residential, said that closing is still several months away and that he didn't want to comment further until the deal is completed.

Construction will cost $6.2 million, the permits said. State filings show that the project, at the southeast corner of University Drive and Devitt Street, is called The Vue on University.
